Meet Marianne Macdonald
Marianne Macdonald is the founder and CEO of The 350 Club, the closed platform enabling global board members and senior leaders to connect and collaborate privately, and The Board Directory. The Club has board and executive committee members from 97% of the FTSE 100 index alongside significant board representation internationally.
She has spent 20 years in the board space, including seven years at The Zygos Partnership, which was the leading UK board search firm in the non-executive space prior to its sale to Russell Reynolds, and ten years running Non-executive Directorships Consulting, the leading non-executive career launch service in the UK.
Marianne created The Board Directory to address longstanding issues she had seen in the board space which made it harder for candidates to be found for searches. First, to enable candidates to be found more easily across their full range of skillsets (languages, geographic experience, diversity, etc), so they would be found and run for more board roles, and to help headhunters broaden their talent funnels. Second, to help candidates to be seen by the widest range of the best board headhunters for a wider range of roles. The Directory helps candidates stay on the board radar, escape siloes and update the headhunter group centrally via a private profile entirely under their own control.
In her earlier career Marianne was an award winning broadsheet journalist. She has a First in English from New College, Oxford and lives in London.
